It Was One Hell of a Day!

Men with paunches Sit on a bench White bandied legs, and varicose veins like road maps discuss yesterdays news, and today’s bowel movement wait for the end of the day so that they can go home to their linoleumed apartment, open a can of beans and fall asleep in front of the flickering TV. Once a month the home care nurse comes to clip their diabetic toe nails, then packs up  her wares as the lonely vet goes back to his daily routine… day after day after day. Sometimes he thinks it was better getting shot at on the beaches of Normandy. At least he wasn’t lonely there!

Additional Notes:
For those Vets that fought for my freedom. They will never be forgotten. June 6th is the anniversary of DDay.
