Din Din (revised)

The Bald Eagle looked forlorn (as they sometimes do) You see, it was a lousy hunting day Sitting atop his perch on the highest tree in the neighborhood he waited and watched Occasionally he grew bored (how does one know they do?) For he swooped over the turd infested outcrop of rock where the Terns love to roost just to scare the Crap out of them Hence the turd on the rock! They scattered and left him all alone to hunt. The sea gave up nothing as he flew  low over the restless water Talons extended looking for a meal (preferably salmon) which usually are in abundance this time of year, but not today. A lone seal patrolled nearby looking for scraps left by gutting fishermen Then he spied (with his eagle eyes) Oh what fun A furry white animal, just a handful and sank his talons to take it to  his lair.  A squeal was all that was heard, and a few drops of blood settled on the patches of dry grass… Fluffy, honey, where are you? Come home it’s time for dinner But the hunter got his dinner (even though it wasn’t salmon!)  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry, there are no critiques for this poem in our system... If the poem is older, the critiques have been purged!  Click HERE to return to ThePoeticLink.com Database Page!

Additional Notes:
The latter part really happened here. A neighbours dog was taken.
