This Cancer Inside

It calls my name each night in slumber it follows me each day a voice within' reaches me again as if my mind a game to play numbness to the soul I can sometimes let it ride other times tears find me the emotions can no longer hide it eats away my vitality sometimes the pain is hard to explain beyond any realm, I have encountered but no matter, it will remain until it has taken enough of my life and only the shell is left when it is done Though in mortal terms I may be dead the living spirit is never gone.
