The Corner of My Desires

You can see the begging disabled vet from it,         the one with the self-enhanced three legged dog. The biker's bar's not far away, then the ambling road          going to salvage yards, the Easter egg hunting                                                    ground.  It's where I left her on her way out of town on a thumb.          In between hearts, promises, broken or not.             She came and went.  Passing by, years and years now, always shot between                                                thoughts. Did her pleading eyes mean more?
