Walking In Your Holy Land
Here I am in Bethlehem
Walking in the Holy Land
Reaching out to touch you Lord
Walking in your Holy Land
What baby is this
Lying in a manger
So far from our land
So close to our hearts
What child is this
That teaches the preachers
As He walks
In this Holy Land
What young man
Do we seek
As flocks gather round
To hear the word He brings
What man is this
That saved us all
By dying
On the cross
It is Jesus
The Son of God
Our Savior
And Our Lord
The gifts of the Spirit
Peace, Love and Joy
Are yours
Forever more
Here I am in Bethlehem
Walking in the Holy Land
Reaching out to touch you Lord
Walking in your Holy Land

Hello, Claire. This is a charming write. It's cleverly penned; refreshing. I had no problems relating with this one! I felt much like a baby Christian, as if being led by a gentle hand.. It's neat since it's Christmas time, to relate with baby Jesus and 'baby' Christian. I like the feeling of awe that you express. And I really wish I could walk those streets with you! Smiles to you! Ellen

Claire,
Nice, like a Christmas card.
You live your faith and practice what you preach. Not many can say that.'
This flowed along well. Easy to read, easy to relate too, easy to gain some value upon the read.
This you could resubmit year upon year.
the repeat works well as a refrain.
Peace, lovely Claire.

Claire,
This is beautifully done. I adore your first and last stanza. By starting with those words, you made us feel as though we were there in that sacred place, experiencing what is to follow ourselves. So full of wonderful imagery and emotion, and such a feeling of well-being ensues after reading this. Then; you repeat that wonderful first stanza, and bring us back full circle. Brava, Claire! Thank you for the wondrous Chritsmas gift of these precious words.
Always,
Mary

Would that I could adorn a tree, a mantle, some respected place
within my humble abode with the season tidings and warm faith
in what all this, at its best comes to represent...what is found
in your poem, Claire.
Sometimes I think that mankind has some aversion to reaffirmation,
that the commercial take-over of Christmas has someting to do with
that, like placing an X where Christ belongs in the very name.
The refrain is especially wholesome, its placement perfectly made.
A sweet poem from a sweet lady.
Merry Christmas,
JCH
