In Time...and Out

I'm drumming      stepping with the beat. I'm rattling     my sabers are so neat. I'm stirring     pots so full of trust. I'm stressing     fisting with the fuss. I'm lying     the press is all enhanced I'm screaming      they have no will to chance. I'm killing     but blaming all the while. I'm juggling     my very bestest style. I'm firing     all owe me their support. I'm hiding     there's too much to report. I'm digging     no one seems to know I'm stooping     just how far this tunnel goes.

Hi James....No doubt you will receive other ideas of who you are writing about but to me it could be no other than our fearless leader...Georgie Bush, himself. Just reading your words makes me mad at him!! A well written rant. I must admit that I had to smile at how perfectly you describe him. If I'm wrong I will just go to my corner and eat worms! cheers....Marilyn

James, This could fit so many of late although it brings the shooter of the latest mass masacre to mind. You see, I've already forgotten his name, relegated him to those who deserve no import to my mind other than that of demons who dance to evil command. Anyway, I liked the style and easy write of this, the free flowing onward march... and in time I'm sure many other names will be linked with what you've said here. Best, Lora

James - My guess...the Great White Bush (If not him specifically then it's the entire administration...they all fit this description) This is not your usual voice, right? From your pen I am more used to a tighter, more disciplined form. This is kind of loose...a definite change (not for the worse...!!) It feels like a modulation in a musical piece. (I'm rambling, now) To get back to the poem...I like what you say here...but not so much the way it is being said. The loose, more familiar form doesn't give the message the same bite you might have imparted had the poem been structured in your usual style. Regardless of my musings...a good poem...a good write...a good read. Peace Gene Dixon

President Bush is my guess and I am probably right on........you have painted this one well and it is so very sad to say he still leads our country. Perhaps there will be an early leave for him. Thanks for posting, God Bless, Claire

James, Sounds like 'Bush' to me. Juggling, killing, screaming, stooping, ect. You could add: whining, losing face, and fumbling. And a zillion more negatives. This was easy to figure out! He is nobody's favorite yet he sits in the Pres's chair? Times are inside out. Soon he's out. But not soon enough. How many more youth have to die before wars end. How does he sleep at night? Good job What more should I say? Dellena
