So Beautiful So fleeting beauty of the face
Of lollypop youth, times erase
Oh! Tender cheeks and kissing lips
Life begins with sweetness of skin
Erupting smiles, so fine of hair
Young move with agility’s flair
Brightly alive through naive eyes
Of innocence that man belies
Time departs with speedy flavor
Beauty has it's moment's waiver
Body and spirit need be paired
Beauty with heart becomes rare
To know of beauty, beauty's praise
In beauty we walk our lifelong days |

Hi D...there is something so melancholy about this poem. It is wonderfully written and it does make me think of how fast our youth disappears. But you are so right....beauty of the heart is the most important asset we can possess. Without that we are just another aging body. There are so many beautiful things in life...it is all around us. One just needs to remember to turn our frowing wrinkles upside down and make them smile lines. Well done, my friend....this is just lovely.
Cheers....Marilyn

Dear Dellena,
You've pretty much captured the true essence of youth in this poem. It's got a good rhyming scheme, is easy to read and comprehend which appeals to me. I see you've included beauty regarding peoples appearances, but I also see you've touched on the beauty of the world as well as described in your last verse.
Some lines I enjoyed the most were:
Brightly alive through naive eyes
Of innocence that man belies
It was a good read.
sincerely,
Denimari

Am I ever glad that I got up early and open onto the site...this is so nicely done, and your wordage, rhythm and meter are like a song, not forced but flows so easily over its meaning. So much truth in this little rhymed poem, which I am a big fan of. Something about a well timed and rhymed piece that has such appeal to me. Gives the poem no matter what the topic a lit of magic as far as I am concerned. I really liked your opening stanze and a really catching way to start the reader down this journey of beauty. "lollypop youth" nicely done! "Body and spirit need be paired
Beauty with heart becomes rare (so true, for without both, there is no true beauty, it is impossible"
To know of beauty, beauty's praise
In beauty we walk our lifelong days" (there isn't enough respect and vision for the beauty of the people in the twilight years and if we ever were the pocessers of our own special beauty, it is at the peak at this time, for we have the knowledge of all that we have experienced and this alone makes us beautiful indeed, if we find others to share it with) thanks Dellena for this insightful piece this morning. Nancy

So Beautiful and indeed that you are.......my husband always says beauty is in the eye of the beholder.....not sure about that statement though.........love holding a newborn baby for true beauty is there before you. The tender, soft, flawless skin that someday will become like mine? What a thought to behold........love the images you present as well with the flare of your pen...........I do believe though that true beauty lies within and once the soul and the body are in tuned, together, the beauty of the soul shines through and there you have it......
Body and spirit need be paired
Beauty with heart becomes rare
To know of beauty, beauty's praise
In beauty we walk our lifelong days
This is a very uplifting poem my friend and I do thank you for always taking the time to care and allowing your own beauty to shine through......take care, be well, God Bless, Claire
