Pushing Up The Daisies The Scrolls of the Dead Sea mined from dark caves row set minds that vie the raven and dove, boiling the hatred that spawn imp eyes to rage and burn the break of bread, searing God's love. But mercy's flight binds by tie evil's swine and frees souls caught within sin's raveled plight. The holy One seines these reins less divine to save hearts of base with his grace and might. O'er hellish dales, the growth of hope prevails nigh heights where blooms the tree of life's fruit, blessings bestowed by the blood of whipped wales and angel psalms lament heaven's pursuit. Pushing up the daisies does not mean death Rather it’s life’s rebirth by God’s own breath. |
Additional Notes:
This is my first attempt at a sonnet. Much thanks goes to Ms. Donna who persuaded me to go ahead and submit my sonnet despite my reservations and fear of being ripped apart. Much thanks goes to Joe and Racheal especially Racheal for reading at least a dozen attempts of this sonnet till I reached the point of satisfaction. MUCH MUCH thanks to Mark for writing such wonderful sonnets, which inspired me to try to write one myself. And lastly kiss, hug, and much love to Carmen for researching the correct, indepth ways of how to successful write a sonnet,,she found what I could not and without all of the above listed help,,,I'd still be doomed. I look forward to each and every critiquing interpretations. Thanks Kelly
