Memory Lane II

It's a trip down memory lane, I remember well this kind of pain. Felt it all so long ago. Where in the hell did it go? Left with him but now it's back. How the hell did I go off track? Maybe I fell in love again. Maybe I fell to fast. God, how I hate repeating, What was suppose to be my past.

DeniMari, I love this, the repeating of the past. I think we repeat repeatedly and sometimes never learn. Unless we get hit with a baseball bat and then begin to think differently. Unemotionlly thinking helps heaps.[right......] Hopefully we grow nonetheless. Hold on tight. Two forward, three back, then forward four..... Dellena

DeniMari, Well flowing easy read reminded me of how many times I've dealt with the same emotions. They say that the trials we go through build strength and character but I always say " I don't want to be stronger and heh! aren't I enough of a character". Perhaps there is something new to be learned this go around, a lesson that was missed. I enjoyed the read even the agitation at repeating past experinces...you made me smile...I got the feel of a bit of tongue and cheek humor/irritation from this one. I especially liked "How the hell did I go off track?" which I had a nickel for everytime I've said that. Brava! Best always, Lora

Hi poet; a trip down memory lane for whatever reason it may be and for whatever memories it brings to the surface is always worth the venture. This one has brought some of my own journey through life to mind; some good, some not so good. Like your poem says; if we learn from our own mistakes then perhaps we will do better the next time we try. Love certainly has a way of stealing our hearts and bring us both joy and sorrow. I hope venting helps you and I am certain this poem has helped other too. Take good care, God Bless, Claire

DeniMari, I think verse such as this must be re posted, at leas personnally every so often. YOu have given me pause to reflect, and there is the quality and riches regarded. Some may wax back to the nostalgic alone, of rafts and friendships; for me, it is much deeper and you bring to me those moments when I lost and learned the most. Sometimes; the secret is what we learn. I suspect, in reading your ending that what you really learned is that no matter the possiblity of sadness; the prominence of sweetness requires an apt response. A nice piece, made me think. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Deni....well I know that feeling of needing to vent. I sometimes feel sorry for people who can't put pen and paper to their frustrations as you have done so well here. "what was suppose to be my past"....I know from experience that the past never passes. It just hangs around until we think we can deal with it before it rears its head and we have to face it one more time. However, never to love again is really not an option for one as young as you. One should experience all there is (unless it is illegal!) as we never get a second chance at the same experience again. I never read this poem before and am glad you posted it again. Well done. Blessings...Marilyn
