Reflections Hello stranger
I see you
Staring back at me
I often glance at your shadow
Lately more frequently
Please tell me where you are going
Or of memories where you have been
Tell me do you wonder
If this pain will ever end
I picked a rose
As I walked through a garden
If it was yours
I beg your pardon
Mirror, mirror
On the table
Release my soul
If you are able
In the depths of reflection
Hypnotized by what I see
This hollow image
A portriat of me

Rene,
This is so sad.
At times I think we all feel hollow.
So much tough stuff is happening and we've lost control of sanity.
As far as releasing a soul, I think we are all connected as one and each
affect the other.
I wish you peace.

Rene',
Very deep, poignant and somewhat hypnotic from the gentle rhyme to the easy flow and mental visions you create with peom. I enjoyed the read, found your closing stanza most appealing...
Best always,
Lora

Hi rene'....such a melancholy write and one I had to read more than once as the feeling of your words is so intense. When I was grieving I would often look in the mirror and wonder what happened to me...why did I look so sad even when I thought I wasn't and what had become of the real me? It took a great deal of time but finally I could recognize my real self again. To make things worse I was caring for my mother who had become someone I didn't even know and that constant turmoil gave me such stress. Perhaps I have told you that before! This is a good poem and one I can relate to with every written word....brava..

I really liked this poem because I enjoy reading about self reflection and what we sometimes see or hide from our selves. The first stanza is my favorite and the ideas and images created are very thoughtful, however I did find it somewhat hard to move from one stanza to the next.
Overall, I enjoyed this piece.
Thanks for sharing,
quatro

Rene this is so very well penned......good word flow, brings forth many images that you allow the reader to see as well as emotions to feel. Your word rhyme always works for this reader. A self portrait indeed and one that deserves to be framed for contest winning. Take care, look forward to always finding you on my list of poets...God Bless, Claire
