Duchess of the Sea

The blue pacific sky So clear I could see forever Warm rays of the sun seemed to dry the ocean spray in the air The duchess of the sea was calling me Out of my sleep and into the sea. she whispered As I sat up to hear her more clearly, sand fell from my hair And the lull of her voice enchanted me into the sea. I ran quickly to the sea grabbing my mask and fins after a few strokes, she slapped my face with water from a cresting wave  her playful beckoning of my attention, come play with me my darling she gestured with each breaking wave, my pulse stimulated with each stroke Descend with me to my boudoir beneath the sea you can accumulate abalone as we go, countless to your craving we took a deep breath, then submerged, the sun faded far from view a swirling bally as we descended in the blue green depths to her aquatic realm We waltzed to the crystalline cascade of bubbling beauty euphorically enslaved by her erotic enchantment in such splendor taking a few abalone, then I faded into her arms in total capitulation I am incapable of escaping the beguiling, bewitching beauty of the Duchess Stay my darling for the millennium, your heart shall belong to me the rapture of her resonant, radiant beauty fills my mind with immortality she fades from view, taking with her my last anticipated breath, as my lungs filled then magically I could breath once again as the ebbing tide awakens me on the sandy beach.

Paul,. You got involved with the Little Mermaid and lived to tell the tale. Wonder what your dream meant? Something about loving I think. A pleasing read. Dellena

Hello Paul, I have read poems written about aquatic dreams and fantasies, but none has compared to this one! I cannot pick just one line, one stanza or one phrase that I can say is my favorite because I would have to quote you the entire piece...but I am a sucker for endings and I loved yours. My breath was taken at the same time as the writer's then magically revived again. Thank you for posting this so I could read it. Naome

What a wonderful imagination you have poet, one that simply flows as those waves begin to capture him......the beauty of this story continues in the depth of another place and time, deepd within the bottom of the sea.....interesting how one can hold their breath when they have to.......just kidding, I enjoyed each detail of this journey.......actually Paul I believe this one should be put into book form for all to enjoy with images to share what your pen has flared. Thanks for posting again, God Bless, Claire
