Meandering Dreams

wandering    in slumber’s sultry envisage enticing imaginings       draped in organdy hues of magical moments      spent                   on moonlit pampas where impassioned mouths met     in rougeberry rapture savoring          the dew spring         that moistens bare skin of bodies        inextricably entwined               in the pinion       of passionflower’s clinch as swanflowers,                 nodding with the cadence                 of lubricious loins      lost in lust,   bow their heads in silent secrecy memories      confined   in the sandglass of time                   play back while morning mist   jackets purple meadow rue and morningstar   fills the skies with afterglow                       a risqué reverie of where once we laid           in wildflower fields sipping nectar from moon’s silvern ladle in the velvet abyss of nocturnal bliss                         tumbling towards ecstasy  ~

Additional Notes:
My friend gave me a title, and told me to write. LOL! A Swanflower is a type of orchid whose flower hangs over on long delicate stems, resembling the neck of a swan.

Mary, I would read your published works often. I think maybe (though I can’t see responses right now) this should suffice for TEW- at least it does for me. I will not tarry long on this verse- the only defining word that comes to my mind reading most of your works is delicious. After several reads.. and a tempting to renew again your splendid vocabulary, I hovered over “risqué reverie” time and again I lay there thinking and wishing. All the rest, indeed enough to reach and dwell in a man’s should who is listening- brought me back to that phrase. Silvern ladle- velvet abyss- nocturnal bliss- and excuse me, I’ve got to return to the tile- a fabulous title worthy of the verse- and read again. Maybe I’ll read it once more just before I meander in dreams.

Mary, Ah yes, in dreams, those soft sensual private wanderings that color mind and thought, so delicate, eloquent and yet fragile one dare not breathe for fear of disturbing the reverie. A sumptuous offering for the senses, most enjoyable read from your accomplished pen. Best always, Lora

Mary, This is truly unique. I enjoyed your wordplay from one stanza to the next. I googled swanflower to learn what one looked like and your take on the delicate orchid was pleasing to the eyes and ears. Your ending was my favorite part. "of where once we laid in wildflower fields sipping nectar from moon’s silvern ladle in the velvet abyss of nocturnal bliss tumbling towards ecstasy" Thanks, Naome

Oh, Mary....this is a fabulous piece of writing!! It is very sensual and your last strophe is very sexy and leaves this reader breathless as she returns to the entire poem several times. I tried and tried to quote a favorite line or phrase but did not succeed. Your writing is so accomplished and I look forward to reading more and more poems from you pen. Red roses at your feet for this one! Please take a bow. Blessings....Marilyn
