Halloween Ogres

Ogres awoke in black of night streets rolled up in craven fright They crawled on ugly wrinkled shins and curled ghastly lipless grins Then stood upon cloven feet filled their bellies with red meat Spit the bones and wiped their chins thus sat down on pumpkin skins Starless sky of Halloween fell on ogres dressed in green They spat on gold in rising sun all ogres each and every one Bugaboo be gone, I say or die in the light of day Evil be damned in shadow’s mind despised by all human kind Slimy demons who shrink in fear and skulk away until next year

Marilyn, This time the tears are from laughter. Your poem is just great. Don't get me wrong, 'cause I was plenty scared while I was reading, but you have a wonderful unique way with word choice that I was laughing at your great choices. Nicely done, poet. You never cease to amaze me with your writing. Your work is so very enjoyable,. Thanks again for This one. Bless you. Love , Paul Boooooooooooooooo!!

Marilyn, Cute! Every line perfectly metered. You rhymed up fine also. This would be fun for the little ones. Enjoyed the thrill, I seem to need one here and again. Think I'll act the witch this year. Happy Halloween to you! Boo! Dellena

Wow.....you frightened me with this one.......I guess I will be careful if I go out on Halloween night.....loved the way you created and presented this, words flow bringing forth so many images, some very scarry at that. glad to see you sent them away until next year. My grandson is leary about heading to a party tonight with all the costumes and all. He is just two and a half........can't say I blame him though there will be adults dressed as well as children.......thanks for the holiday read; well done. God Bless, Claire
