A Spider's Web A spider spins her wedding dress on eaves when rain has left its fringe on sash and dome. She creeps on silky threads in summer’s breeze and never breaks her web as soft as foam. I watched her prance her feet upon the spout and leave no trace atop the water’s fall. With mouth too small to speak a word or shout, she danced a jig beside the garden wall. When summer fades and draws a golden breath, this tiny insect seeks the heat to thrive. Her veil of lace will not prevent her death, alas her dappled body won’t survive. The frosty tooth of winter’s cloud prevails and God’s design will prove He never fails. |
Additional Notes:
I saw a spider's web on my drain spout and decided to write about it. Thank heavens I didn't see the spider as I hate them with a passion!

Marilyn,
What a perfect image you create with your deft penning; easy to read and well flowing with such a delightful ryhme pattern. Thank you for the afternoon respite and the chance to escape the hum-drum frey of the day.
Best always,
Lora
