Child Abuse

Poised to fly, wings alift   slight bough humming In uncertain release     tiny heart strumming Dip, then fall...     hope no cat's around Child sparrow, swift taker     wistful courage Yet untaught cowardice    perching on ledge To release into wonder

James, Sounds like cupid's arrow humming, strumming, releasing children of birds. Maybe the push to fly gives us courage. Something humans don't often teach their young. Releasing to wonder or perhaps 'terror' today. We as parents and a people wish to control every facet of life. Their partner, child, parents, family. It is difficult to let another live their fate. Good stuff, James. You always keep me thinking. Dellena

Hi James, The image of the sparrow, rising above the sufferings is stark. The resounding echos of courage ring loud and clear in this piece of hope and light. A strong message on Child abuse. Duane.

Love your way with words, your presentation and your style.......this one is no exception and will make my list for the month. You have penned well my friend, you have created images that I might have laughed at and even cried at.........My dog, Pretty Girl, just woofed at me the other morning to call DSS on 'daddy' for she is tired of his putting her out when she barks too long........any suggestions......Cold day here in New England, new snowfall overnight and this morning, stay warm, God Bless, Claire Oh and I am certain the sparrow made a wonderful first flight......

Wow James! If I had a vocabulary as great as yours, along with your wonderful imagination and the talent you do in penning it all together.......I can only wish. I do truly enjoy reading your work and try real hard to figure you out sometimes, but always enjoy it. Always, Rene'
