Low

to touch to feel that ineffable something at the bottom of mySelf to see to illumine and determine what is me and what is not and therefore find that nothing is aught that all is in deed as in water, H2O and that's about as much as I can say about it but as a poet I feel somehow compelled to doubt it as words flow from what I don't know whether I recognize this act or not in the end, all that matters is that I am low I lay before thee with these words now I will not go into just how I got the form, the words, the flow because all that matters is that I am low this is all you need know

Dear Regis; a wonderful poem about the self introspection we all go through as poets. I disagree with the conclusion as Low for the heightened sense of self awareness you feel in order to have these feelings and to write this illuminating work. Doubt and necessary self doubt are part and parcel the working attributes of any serious poet....To search the deepest part of your being to understand your feelings is not a low thing. Regis, I have always found you a serious and talented poet and do so now. Fine work. Your friend Gerard

Regis, Yes humility can be a bitter sweet taste and yet it is so needed to move on with perfecting ones self. We learn so much from humility; patience, perseverance and exceptance...I also dip into the pool of humility and sometimes find that I must be reminded from time to time of the lessons there in learned...thank you for the post and the refresher.....
