WAITING TO FEEL

Eyelids flutter shadows feast and fornicate upon curtains too often closed against life beyond Where time forgot to stop when he did Do they think nothing has changed? Do they think the world still a merry-go-round with prize of brass ring? Fools, idiots, buffoons what do they know? My heart has turned to concrete as the city in which they dwell The word 'meaning' has none Dawn and darkness somersault across autumn sky Landing in winter's river filled with icy shards as the blood that runs in my veins Though there is a ghost of life tempting me to dance barefoot across the playground that was my soul my will refuses to cooperate So I sleep sleep Until brightness and blackness meld Until sleep becomes  eternity
