Under the stairs

broken toys fragments af a tea set disfigured dolls coloured balls covered with teeth marks dusty chalkboard puzzles missing pieces old photographs musty dress-up clothes tangible evidence of having a childhood but she doesn't remember an empty mind and shattered innocence her only relics a soul in agony with scars so deep a pink ribbon a lock of fine hair faded sundresses an old trunk broken bicycle horn a Children's Bible rotting dollhouse all she has are her salty tears her self-mutilation her fear with roots wrapped about the core of her heart never able to let go to love a lost, little girl trapped in a cage of incest
