My Votes for April

Points: 14.0625 The Blossoms Eye submitted by James Edward Schanne on 2009-04-29 15:17:54 Points: 12.65625 Raft-wreck submitted by Duane J Jackson on 2009-04-19 02:07:49 Points: 11.25 With In submitted by Lora Silvey on 2009-04-14 23:17:25 Points: 9.84375 Spaces submitted by Dellena Rovito on 2009-04-27 17:41:07 Points: 8.4375 So Alone submitted by Terry Anctil on 2009-04-10 12:38:41 Points: 7.03125 Mother's Boy submitted by DeniMari Z. on 2009-04-30
:47:43 Points: 5.625 Tale of the Bouncing Bunny submitted by Monica Wachman on 2009-04-12 16:05:07 Points: 4.21875 On A Wing submitted by Regis L Chapman on 2009-04-18 00:12:05 Points: 2.8125 Calling center blues submitted by Claus Michael Ranswill on 2009-04-19 19:56:31 Points: 1.40625 Scan........(Revised) submitted by DeniMari Z. on 2009-04-17 14:05:27 Decidedly a richer month than last, with a promising new poet on the scene, Mr. Schanne. I'm certain he's most welcome among us all. Just as well as is Mr. Ranswill. Duane has not disappointed us, giving TPL two wonderful poems and improving his critiques to a remarkable level. Dellena and Lora predictably have developed more and more styles of their own as expressed in their poems while DemiMarie has toned a poem of remembrance for her son in a quality of poeming she hasn't before. I hope Terry will be more forth-coming this month with her work. She, like MAH, is a natural born poet. But then, when  one loves the genre, that brings manytimes even more to the table. MSS's continued absence is a real drag and the low point of both these last two months. A poet with both a flair for the classical and a brilliance to overcome it, he can write a great poem in a storm drain. So, no excuses, Mark. I would have given DeniMari more vote for Scan but it was a repost. Four poems were very difficult to decide between but, The Blossoms Eye, was an easy choice.

James I so look forward to your own added words on the choices for the month's contest. Indeed it is nice to see new poets presenting their work as well as poetry from those already sharing. Thank you for your continued support of this site and all that you bring to it too.....God Bless, Claire

Thank you for the vote James...I really have kind of quit posting for votes...they just don't seem to be all that important anymore. Great selection, I went back and forth over quite a few before settling on my vote. L

I just checked the critiquer ratings at contest end. I gave you a -10- for your critique of my poem 'All Alone'; and I gave DeniMari a -9-. The system doesn't show that. Tried to email you, email is not getting through. Terry tia567@canoemail.com (my new address)

Hi James, Thank you again for your thoughts on my poems and for ranking raft-wreck, 2. It was a fantastic month on tpl compared to the last two that flew by with the exception of Mark. His presence here is sorely missed. I hope he is fine. James Schanne has posted before and I hope that this new post is a sign that his hibernation has ended. I guess our lists are almost similar with the exception of Mr. Ranswill and Monica who never made it onto mine. Duane.

JC, You're a natural born writer; not just a poet, but I think you know that. Love the part about MSS, being able to write a great poem in a storm drain because I agree. I often encouraged him to do more with his work - but he's seems to be his worst critic - hopefully he will publish at some point - I didn't see Mother's Boy coming in after Tale of the Bouncing Bunny - Monica has the natural ability to write for children and I thought that piece was exceptional - better than Mother's boy - I gave a good try at writing for children -still have all of it tucked away - for future reference. Perhaps at some point I'll share some of it here. Good evaluation of the month of April. Has anyone tried to email MarkSS? just a thought, Deni
