To Withstand the Storm

My soul lives within How I act is who I am If I scream in silence My message is agreement If I scream in protest I become my message Each and every word and deed Reveals the meaning of spirit

Hi Dellena, Deep and thought provoking. A solid write on an aspect of human nature and the 'human' environment that surrounds it. Some very nice and apt lines - 'how i act is who i am', 'if i scream in silence my message is agreement'. Nicely done. Duane.

A lovely poem, my dear, full of highly significant meanings, placed in subtle manner gently upon the mind. That I agree explicitly, emphatically, is really beside the point... I would like to think, but you are stirring my bias. This "bias" makes your last line compelling to me. JCH

Osiyo Dellena, I really like this one. You've used sparse words to convey some very strong sage thoughts. I am in total agreement with you. For so many there appears to be no soul living within and only the lost ends of oneself seem to appear. This is a very powerful piece......it tells me you know who you are, what you believe in, where you might have been and where you are going at this time in your life....we all have a soul and one can only hope and pray we listened and learnt well in our journey through life for HE who created each of us waits to see the final results of this journey......personally I believe it is okay to scream in protest of what is taking place around us as we write. Hope you are feeling well, the cooler weather is here and probably to stay. Been down with some flu bugs lately and they seem to want to stay. God Bless, be safe my friend. Claire

Wonderful poem. We all have souls, that I believe receive messages; just as our minds and hearts do. Like the indication of self, expressing thoughts in candid short verses. Last two lines, are the most powerful in this piece. Everything about someone should come from their inner spirit - because that's the voice we need to hear, to withstand the storm & live, survive - the journey of life.
