Keep Him Out For Good

Softly sip the liquor of life a drink to ponder, a pint of wonder; aged as fine wine your inner voice rises to ask for the plan of choice. Inhibitions bale as the happy soul sails over dim where the beast sits in.  Amid vicious grins he will steal for a meal in the most fragile second, tempting a soul with grim motives. Beckoning hearts to catch, keep and eat alive. Damn his plan with steadfast prayers. His lies can be seen to the non mortal supreme like fine feathers sheen his ruse and disguise materialize after the damage is done. His whispering evil to champions victory that ascends then disappears  to new champions, in new years. The others forgotten as quickly as a stark dreams memory fades in the first moments  of being awake. But for you the grace will be full â€“ filling upon your face Lest cumbersome burdens with peace are replaced.

Hi Deni, This is a well written and evocative poem and one I enjoyed reading more than once. Your beginning strophe sets the stage for what it to come. "A pint of wonder" is an excellent phrase. Satan abides in our lives whether we like it or not. The trick is not succumb to his wicked ways...not always easy. A good poem with a compelling message. Well done. Best wishes, cheyenne

Hi Deni, Just a couple of little nits: you need to put an apostrophe in dream's, it is possessive and uncap the word Lest since is part of the thought although you want a pause between it and face. Nicely written, the age old problem, Satan's subterfuge is ever present. Yes, he uses any tool available, he is so very good at sabatoge and the game of masqurade, the picture you present is succinct and clear. Your fears and concerns are well voiced in this finely crafted work. Lora
