Rejection

She sees the candle burn her name in light its flame with colors beckon sobs in dreams. Beside her tears an empty pillow lies the silent thoughts she owns are wound too tight; so tight she can hardly breathe in and out. Her room with lonesome walls is ever mute but speaks and asks why she resides alone, her answer too painful to think about. She drowned when others sang their songs to keep as shadowed night holds mem’ries strong of heart, her only love forever gone from sight. The candle blaze has died in time for sleep.

This could be "my" theme poem right now. Life, you have managed to write how many feel inside - but you have fashioned it with a strong choice of words, the elements that make someone feel this way and candid imagery to enhance such sad emotions for anyone caught in this kind of life. I have no suggestions to you for changes, or any points that need to be addressed. Your talent shines in this, and I'm appreciating the posts. The last line defines your message so clearly. Way to go girl.....Kudos & blessings, on the list for July, Deni

cheyenne, The wound thing through me off track the first stanza. I think coiled or folded etc. would have worked and not set me back figuring it out. It's like reading loveliness and getting stopped short and how difficult to recapture the mood. Drat it was so nice. Dellena

Cheyenne, such lovely painfully sorrowful verses that flow ever so smoothly as if ebbing like tide and time. Images of a life's love/partner now gone and where two once filled the void there is only one. For some there is only one and when the flame deminishes there is no other. So very beautiful yet sad; your poem struck a core with inside this reader's heart. Excellently crafted and presented, there is nothing to suggest for changing--it is a self contained continuous thought. Kudos. Lora
