Seasoned

Residing in the taste buds  of any particular experience  are flavors left in the mouth  to consider upon at days end Primal textures and odors  essences of flavors to savor  Blended to develop into  the spirit of what one is

Dellena, I like this. Short, simple and sweet...flavored just right if i may say so! Wonderful imagery, delicately placed just right. I love the idea of how textures, odors and flavors blend to develop the spirit of one...very intriguing~! I truly enjoyed this read and look forward to more of your writing. Mandie

Oh my....Girl, this actually brought back memories instantly...seriously...instantly! Within seconds of reading the first stanza, I was transported back to the smells and taste of the air in my grandmother's Italian home! You words assaulted memory and senses in a most delightful way! Love it, my friend....very effective & enjoyable!! Always, Mary

Dellena, an enjoyable read. Now, you know me, I have this propensity to find out what the writer really means, even when what she means is right there. Having many sensory recalls in my life- that of taste, scent, or even a commonplace scene- I view this (for me) as that moment when something pertinent is recalled from the touch (to a sense) of something past. Making a sensory image In S1 adds substance to an experience that is often as ethereal as living can beg. It is often, for me, I cannot even recall the poignant moment, only the deep emotion that is associated with the recall. “Blended to develop”, a recipe for living forward, that will- postscript, become the image for S1. S2 use of “primal” and “essences” accent the “savor”, that of past and future. I think this a brilliant metaphor, (unless), you are really talking about recall of a good time and great meal. In that case; the image makes me glad I have shared it with you.

Dellena, this is excellent, so very sage with a certain zen quality. In so few words you've professed such a simple wisdom that appears to ellude many. You've keyed upon one of the most essential senses that we have and how it affects us in so many ways. Your lines and gentle cadence are smooth offering an easy read within a nice flow. Your verbiage choices are perfect--you waste no words and use only what is necessary to make your point. There is nothing I would suggest to change about this poem, it is one that resonates. Lora

Hi Dellena, This is a fabulous poem and one I read more than once just to savor the words. The message is thought provoking and the flow is like liquid as the words slide down the page with ease. In my opinion you shouldn't change a thing in this beautiful piece. Well done. Best wishes, cheyenne

Nice poem Dellena - Reflections of one's spiritual journey through a day to ponder and enjoy. This is an enjoyable read, yet that one word (just my opinion) - "Residing" to start it off had me hesitate for a moment. All of choose our own word because that is what separates our various styles, and makes us unique with writing. In any case you are "in" this poem, and have created another very good poem. blessings, Deni
