Old boy a Macdonald acrostic Oh! he planted the seeds
of what fruits we don't know
Blindly we followed the fellow
thought was 'the whole show'
Ahh.. how little the knowledge
we reap at what we sow
Man of peaceful farms
Nobel was led to bestow
A cad of no season nor reason
may his garden not grow

Sound piece of writing yet I wonder who the Cad is. This could be related to politics - or to anyone who promised something good that never transpired because it was never possible to begin with.
Good read - I enjoyed this a lot.

I know Dellena, given the content of the piece I shouldn't be entertained in a light matter, yet I am. It was a fun piece. In a real sense my piece says the same thing, but not nearly as much fun as this one.
I know you are often a serious persona and maybe the gravity of the piece for you doesn’t indicate the irony, or maybe humorous hubris of his manner.
I have often thought that with the accidental president the “reap what we sow†line is the greatest reflection on the electorate.
Anyway, I enjoyed the ride. Thanks for sharing.

Title is confusing - Old Boy. Acrostic poem is the beginning of each line a letter that spells the title. Not Old Boy in this case - your title should be 'Obama' I have no idea what a Macdonald Acrostic is, care to enlighten me? I think that your poem has merit and I don't know why you put in the words Nobel was lead to bestow? Are you adding Nobel the peace prize for a reason, or the man Alfred Nobel as a suggestion that Obama should follow peace instead of war? Thanks for sharing, blessings, K.
