MY MOTHER

My mother is special, she always found time To care for her children and spouse. She baked lots of goodies, did tons of wash Yet kept an immaculate house. She kissed away boo boos, erasing my pain Drying up so many tears. She talked to me softly, calming my nerves While hugging away all my fears. She gave me the freedom to reach out and grow And make some mistakes on the way. But when I was ready, she always was there To discuss the events of that day. So as I grew up and did things on my own I wanted to mirror my mother. To follow her footsteps, be just like her And tenderly love one another. By Marsha J. Moore 07/06/00
