Wisdom Of The Wood If I could see a tree and view its inner strength I might begin to learn the wisdom of standing; Of claiming a spot or standard worth life to defend. If it feign could speak, it surely would declare How wind and storm had scorned its clinging To the earth for its standing to depend. It could display missing boughs and wounds Brought by the fierceness of life in the wood How in season to recover when God lets spring begin. It can morph the stinging wind to song And blizzard into beauty. Change light to life and feed itself then give off the more as duty. |

Victor,
"If I could see a tree... " I think you would have books to write!
I find this short and meaningful poetry. The last four lines are powerful and nicely worded. I can imagine the beauty just through those lines. I think lines 4-6 could be better. They read just fine but I feel they are not as strong as the title, beginning and ending. Do keep writing. I would love to see more from you.
