Consecration

Like angels crying in the rain and babies reaching for the Father Souls gather, paying homage  to words fulfilled We yearn to sip wine, taste crackers while a finger touches lips hushing any utterance After sun down, between pain and dawn is the final question answered— or will life’s song continue…

We come to this point, sadly, only in later life. Found in the deeper weighing of real truth from real experience. The immortal soul may seem illusory, but it's there. More than just a hope, indeed a consecration. Very sweet poem to one on final approach. JCH

Hi Lora, You have penned a fabulous poem with expressive word choices and gentle flow. The caps on Father and Souls and sips of wine with crackers give it a biblical flavor that makes it even more powerful. The babies are hushed and the final question we all seek is asked 'or will life's song continue' We can't know the answer until our souls travel afar when we will know what it is all really about. I hope I didn't fracture the essence of your poem but this is the way it speaks to me. Instead of punctuation you have let your line breaks work for you and I like that. Bravo... Best wishes, cheyenne

This poem reminds me of church. Of the taking of the body and the blood of Christ. Words full filled. The line "between the pain and the dawn" is my fav. i wonder if this is a Easter Poem. I can see nothing wrong tech wise. Joe
