The Other Side Of Failure

Where once the cock had crowed , And sealed a failure’s grief. Now peel the bells proclaiming The season of  man’s relief. From missing of the holy mark, And trusting  in the thief. Chief liar who by all his craft Has tried to thwart belief. Three times rehearsed the Master Each failure brought to bear, And laid against the future task This disciple was soon to share. With love’s three voices heard With skill and gentle care The Master guided  fainted heart, And defeated his despair.   “Feed My Sheep”

Hi Victor, You have penned a fabulous poem. You have chosen descriptive words to express yourself. I understand the Religious tone and I think it may be about Jesus dying for our sins. The entire poem is powerful and evocative. I have failed at picking a favorite phrase or line as I like them all. I would like to read more of your work. Well done. Best wishes, cheyenne

An Easter poem no doubt. Peter's denial of Christ three times the ultimate failure because of fear.Chief liar would be Satan. Love's three voices would be the Father,Son and Holy Ghost I believe. That faith defeats dispair. Nicely done Mr Rooks
