Cowboy Sonnet

She strode into the Cowboy Bar that night Her body language made her purpose clear She’d find the man who made her heart take flight She’d call him out and show no outward fear She found him drawn and withered at the bar Just nothing like the man she thought she’d known How could her dreams have fallen off this far? Or was it just from being left alone She watched him for what seemed the longest while Then turned and headed slowly for the door But then a handsome man with winsome smile Was guiding her around that hardwood floor The little band played songs from way-back-when The lady felt her heart take flight again

Nicely written with great rhyming - Clear and concise to the reader the message of someone who has gone off track - My only question would be - Did the man at the bar light up when he saw her and not let her leave? Love & heartache - hand in hand - Good poem, blessings Deni

I am wondering if the woman in this story is older and that the man old man was once the one with the winsome smile.Either way a great story that takes the reader to some place beautiful. Thank you for posting it
