Within the Poem

Within The Poem A poem, an expression in thought Without limitations as to style             otherwise one will become lost in the structure A flow which creates it's own music Lush, sumptuous, methodical             Yet not always pleasant   A truth which only the author knows Others must only guess that they feel             The internal sensation A moment grasped from the past Which must be released              Or death prevails on the thought If death is conveyed                   Then life is lived If love is the answer                  Then life is full If sorrow is known                  Then happiness fulfilled If an answer is given                  Then the question will                    Be Within the Poem

Absolutely great. I don't mean to transfer my thoughts onto you, but all of my poems are written for me and rarely to any particular or general audience. I am very selfish though. I do greatly appreciate it when someone sees more in me than I do, or than what I truly know exists. My narcissism...not meant to be projected on you or anyone else. But it does reflect what I perceive is the truth and the power of what you have written. Outside of myself (if that is possible), your writing is a very accurate "expression" of what poetry is and as you so precisely and exquisitely wrote, "If an answer is given Then the question will Be Within the Poem" Perfect! Love the poem and all the intentions within. I believe a poem like this would serve well as a first poem in a book called how to write poetry. A short manual of sorts for those who want to improve the nature of their work. Bravo

Bravo! Yes! Something I can connect to with each and every line. Honestly I've been waiting for a poem just like this: poetic but clear. A truth which only the author knows--yes I've noticed that too, and yet, each reader will incorporate the sensations that relate to him or her. In that way, it's kind of a riddle. I like the very subtle rhyming, fulfilled & will; grasped from the past--not too much--not sing-songy, just enough to entertain the ear and possible make the ear want more. Clever. S2--its is not possessive here. Thanks for posting. I thought the LInk died.
