Prey I had always noticed how you watched me as a cat would a mouse How you wanted to seize me in the teeth of your emotions With every bite I became more yours I fought you because you needed the fight I could not want too easily when you so desire the hunt Only I could maintain the illusion |

Interesting concept, Joe--almost riddle-esque! A romantic "play" concept on several levels, where the cat enjoys the stealth of the hunt, and you, the hunted, are enjoying the cunning of it too. I fought you b/c you needed the right--right on! Fascinating that you can see it and remain intact. A real cat-and-mouse lovers' game with both sides in full understanding of what the relationship needs. Every bite I became more yours, and you seem to understand the need of it and not mind. This is almost the telling of someone standing 'above' the relationship, the game, narrating, and seeing the needs of both: predator and prey. Again, what a concept. Nicely done.
