Deer Crossing Signs - Haiku Humor

Deer Crossing Signs - Haiku Humor Teach the deer to read Heavy traffic on this road Not safe to cross here Let’s use our heads now Put deer crossing signs at schools Where cars have slowed down Put large signs in place Near water free of traffic Deer need to drink here Old watering hole Not safe to drink anymore Take trail to the left Educate yourselves! Road not safe for deer crossing Look both ways, then walk Teach deer to read class Sponsored by Fish and Wildlife All deer are welcome Learn to read by Spring Some graphic slides will be shown Fawns need to stay home Stop the deer carnage Put signs where they can see them Stop and watch for cars

Additional Notes:
Ref. is made her to a gal named "Donna" who seriously tried to make her case to radio hosts & politicians that the Deer Crossing signs should be posted in school/hospital/loading zones where cars are ALREADY going slow. She honestly felt this would cut down on deer/car accidents--you can watch it on youtube. This "poem" is based on Donna's idea. It is strictly for fun.

Marcia, you have hit the season, the funny bone, the heartstrings, and more this month. I have a penchant for linked haiku/senryu, and so when it tells a story, particularly a humorous story, it is always something special. Of course, if deer could read, however, as impulsive as they are, reading would be more of an overkill, pun intended. I feel the inverse is also worth mentioning; the advanced civilization (we humans) know how to read and often do not utilize the required crossing designations- how much more would critters disregard their direction….. Well, fun fun fun, in the hope of more intelligent deer runs

You know what. I get it. What Donna's trying to say and what your put across so well. We are not the only ones here. How about we try and talk to them. This is of course a brilliant poem and I would expect nothing less from you. Thank you again for taking me somewhere else. Loved it
