While Having a Beer

While having a beer I thought of you dear  brought back memories to shuffled like  playing cards Laying them out on the table in some terrible game of solitaire. What to do  about the undone of us the forget me knots  that have yet to be plucked. I go for a walk and cast prayers from my thoughts hoping they catch the wind   and find their way to you I dream of you  long and often  Yet the reality of your presence   is so much better then dream

Joe, As often with you, you give us some great lines and then sort of revert into, well, things like the last stanza. The poignant, powerful stanza(s): Laying them out on the table in some terrible game of solitaire. **wonderful metaphor** I go for a walk and cast prayers from my thoughts hoping they catch the wind and find their way to you **great . . . objectification of "prayers"**

Very nice. I feel and then I see that I am there. The best I can say, I identify. I have gone for a walk and I never stop dreaming and never stop making my cast. Beautiful post!
