Wrong Way on a One Way Street

Sittin here watchin the pourin rain Seems I should be goin somewhere Instead of sittin here listenin to the pain I can go where no one else will go Feels like its neither here nor there I`m just sittin here drownin in the rain Ain`t easy listenin to the pain Seems like I should be goin somewhere Neither here nor there Think I`m goin insane Just can`t believe it Help me remember your smile Make it all worthwhile I`m in too deep, can`t seem to sleep Everyday is so jaded, all the daylight has faded The burnin in my veins is so outdated I just cant believe it I can go where no one else will Goin the wrong way on a one way street Tearin up the town walkin on my feet Maybe I should swallow another pill Help me remember your smile, can`t walk another mile I think I`m coming undone Sittin here watching the rain, listenin to all the pain Seems I should be goin somewhere,it`s neither her nor there I`m in too deep, can`t seem to sleep, feels like I`m going astray Help me remember your smile Make it all seem worthwhile

Reads like lyrics to a song that might have written for the Stones. Each stanza has a very clever twist on words. A poem of sadness brightly written. Well done

You've penned a very heartfelt and touching piece in the memory of someone so loved and dear. I can feel your pain in every verse all the way. I am so sorry for your loss and hope and pray that you find some solace in sharing this beautiful poem with us. God bless!

Michael, this is a piece I needed to read this year. It is a piece where I can join the moment, and walk to where the images are less likely to impart thier message. You spoke such, and the “insane” to rhyme with pain, is a perfect match- listenin’ to the rain, the rain, and wondering after sleep- There are few things that will recompense such a loss of a smile. Your piece is alive an poignant. That is why it is so powerful, it is alive, and you are alive to tell you’re tale. I remember a counselor once telling an angry person, if you’re that angry, you are still alive. There is hope. On this trail, today, I am walking with you. Really a splendid piece.
