Crash Course in Adolescence He showed promise to his parents He was a figure of deception He took a wrong turn in life At the junction of misconception. He never got into trouble He always had another way out But when he got addicted to valiums Everyone sprouted their doubts. Then the the fire grew hotter When one night, he drank alcohol And as he gulped down another pill His overdose shocked them all. She seemed so perfect and so gentle Who dare to hate this girl? But still she was sacrificed To an unforgiving world. Everyone's got their dues in life Everyone has a price to pay But who would ever imagine That she'd end up that way? No one knew she was a prostitute Her emotions were mortally scarred But one night when she was "working" That's when she was caught off guard. He was always so happy So helpful and so kind But he buried his true feelings And he lived as though he was blind. There was a pressure block in his mind A small conformity of tension His emotions exploded in sorrow Conjuring his own aggresion He placed the iron barrel In the socket of his eye And then he pulled the trigger And some still wonder why. His father was a drunkard His sister was mentally deranged His mother was addicted to heroin And his life was so estranged. The scars on his back were nothing Compared to the scars on his mind Horrid memories and broken dreams With missing pieces he couldn't find. He did the crime to end it all To get out of his living hell But the legal system made him pay And now he's stuck in jail. Sometimes it makes me wonder Not many win, so many lose Some say things just happen But I think that phrase is misused Events and actions so often go amiss But where does it cross the line? No one seems to understand it No matter how much they read the signs Some were born luckier, they say But I know that ain't true After all what happened to them Just might happen to you. |
