Healing My mom protected me as best she could From the dangers of the outside world But what about the hell within The moment that she let him in Now I lay me down to sleep And prey my innocence to keep But if he shall come before I wake I pray the lord for him to take Bitterness consumes my love And drains the soul of forgiveness Too many excuses for his mistake All have come much too late Letting go of the pain is hard But it's something I must do You made me the victim once If I let it destroy me I'll carry the blame too |
