What's Happened To Mankind?

As the years go by I've begun to see Some words no longer have meaning to me The Grocer, a phonograph, words no longer heard They've gone out of style and now sound absurd Some words are still used but their meaning has died Words who's meanings are destroyed by mans' pride The most abused word being used is "Mankind" It's meaning obsolete and humanity blind Man seems to be taught how conquer possessions Their neighboring man in the way of the obsession Then the women began asking why MAN kind? Women are now also seeking their find So now WOMAN kind has taken her place She is very worthy of competing in this race And now we all are obsessed with ourselves The forgotten word KIND now sits on a shelf The only time it seems to be used anymore Is to point out our differences, not like before I hear it used, "His kind", "Their kind" I'm quite sad We have taken a very wonderful word and made it bad I ask MAN and WOMAN alike to help find The true definition of this word called Mankind Let's not let it fade with things obsolete If so Man and Woman will fall in defeat
