GRANDMA'S HANDS Grandma's hands were gentle as they soothed a crying child Grandma's hands were steady as they found the needle's eye Grandma's hands wore blisters as they planted turnip greens Grandma's hands toiled daily with thirteen mouths to feed Grandma's hands clapped loudly as each child finished school Grandma's hands were ready to enforce the "golden rule" Grandma's hands worked briskly selling goods at County fairs Grandma's hands made steeples as she said her nightly prayers Grandma's hands moved quickly to get the chores all done Grandma's hands made cookies for all the little ones Grandma's hands were triumph as they helped a babe draw breath Now those hands rest quitely upon dear grandma's chest |
