Silent Lullaby, Goodnight

Good evening, my dear starlight. Bring out your shadows, hide the light. What might your darkness reveal, despite The shade of black tonight? These eyes cannot see, Therefore will not be seen When teardrops, falling, stream From ending moonlit dreams. All I ever needed- but no more. Leave me to the ocean shore. Just me and this old heart at war- We'll find what we've been looking for. How do you learn to forget And release from much regret The feelings you have set In your heart to be unmet? Silent memories make me cry Below the painful, never-ending sky. Softly sing a whispered lullaby To pass me on until the morning light. Upon waking, lament again, Cry for her love, my friend; But she isn't coming back- Pretend That this is not the end... 4-98
