Rumor

A raging flood of guilt flows like a river over its banks. Shame shrouds empty eyes for fear of recognition,  indecencies committed. Whispers are shouts for ears tuned to the frequency of gossip. Facing fear, lies from the past next corner stands alone waiting to be chased away too strong to be defeated   the years have fed the lie like a hungry monster distorted and ugly  thriving in this small town growing in intensity  till no one dares to challenge and no one is safe.
