Solitude

Tick Tock Tick Tock Listen carefully to the hands of freedom As they slowly pass you by Minute by minute losing you in solitude Never hearing your voice Never seeing your eyes Again Tick Tock Tick Tock The clock on the wall counts the minutes And the calendar counts the days And the white walls count your sanity But only you can count the tears That silently fall down your cheek Tick Tock Tick Tock Your memory lingers on Staring out the window Longing for something new And longing for something fresh And longing for your savior To carry you off into the golden sunset Tick Tock Tick Tock The night transforms into a another day And Summer into Winter And Winter into Spring You remain there dreaming As you genly wipe the strand of gray hair From your childish face
