Tea Party

We sit down together for our evening tea with the hot vaporous steam of you and me My upper lip bathed in kisses by waves of bittersweet glaze until I perspire beneath your steady gossamer gaze Your loving hands stir my tea leaves so constantly with your sugar-warm and sticky, like melting honey The way my dainty cup conforms to your palm Your soothing breath in my ear, like a lovers balm We drink down our hot, my saucer held out, unsteady- reaching for more Our teabags intertwined together- drenched in the moon, lying on the floor
