Battle Cry Brothers and sisters it's time to unite To stand up for what we know is right! Our families are being torn apart By predators breaking our children's hearts. Our kids are losing trust In a society that turns its back in disgust Forgotten victims of an endless battle Between the abuser and rights they're entitled. What about the victims rights The innocence taken in the middle of the night The life forever changed The lies, the tears, the distress and the shame. The cost is too high to forget the past The predators walk the same path The moment that they are out of bars To look for the next victim of this covert war. What is the solution? How do we begin this revolution? Parents and teachers, caregivers and nurses Aunts and uncles, minister, other members of the churches, Search their innocent trusting eyes Question every tear they cry. They may not tell, but you can see the traces Written all over their despondent faces The hollow, sad eyes It's not hard to recognize Let our kids know its alright To tell of the things that go bump in the night To tell of the pain they endure Behind the secretive, closed doors. The laws of this nation must be revised Don't turn your back on this battle cry Our nation owes it to our children To give them a safe place to live in. |
