Teddu Bear Witness

The little boy slid into bed,      with his teddy bear cuddled next to his head. So confused because he knew not why or when,      he ever would see his mother again. All of those symptoms now became the final answer,      of why her battle was lost to the cancer. So tired and worn he fought for some sleep,      needed because his pain and sadness was so deep. Over his head he could hear a gentle rain,      and the rhythmic drops seem to ease his pain. Slowly his eyes closed still wet with tears,      as the steady rain began to reduce his fears. He scarcely could hear the rolling thunder,      as his tired body gave way to a slumber. Deeper now he entered into the land of dreams,      with no particular time or space it seems;      and calling to him in a voice loud and clear,      was his very precious mother dear. "Hello sweetheart," he could hear her say;      "there is no reason to be so sad on this day;"      "I am healthy and happy with my family and friends,       and the blessings that souround me are without ends."      "We will be together again and have eternity to share;       give a hug for your mother to that teddy bear."
