The lesson

"I HATE YOU MOM!" explodes a 6 year old temper drowning the joys of our morning of fun passionately declaring "unfair" treatment and resolving to never love me again. Compassionately I calm the brash sermon exclaiming that I still love her and always will "Hate me if you must but I hope you know  what hate really is…of course you don't, you've  only known love in your short time here." "You should never hate anyone is the lesson I was Taught and now pass on to you, forgiveness is the Path to true happiness..." I can't look her in the eyes guilt for the malice harbored in my heart torn between the lessons I must teach  and the lessons I have learned hypocritically passing on the half truths  knowing that forgiveness comes in layers getting to the core sometimes takes a life time but for now, today, in this event… hatred is bad, forgiveness is divine.
