The Critic Within

You are the one who makes positive things into negative, You doubt the good things then turn the good things bad, You make me doubt my children and the ones I hold dear, You made me feel as though my life was a failure, And never amounting to anything more, Than my life had meant in the past, But to your surprise my life is worth more now, For I am aware of your tactics And how you put them to use and that, Makes me stronger, than you could ever amount to, Because, a dead weight is what you are, A big rock, which in colour is black is a bad influence, And an influence that I can do without, From now on, See my self worth is more, Than you, could ever amount to With no avenues on the side that are weak, So, you can seep through the cracks, in the walls of my self worth, And make your influence known and felt, You see an ocean is stronger than an embankment, It washes in waves to the shore And cleanses the good, to erase the bad The tides are constantly moving And, help take the bad away from the good, And in the process takes the bad, To the dark depths of the ocean, To be amongst the predators, like yourself So your influence can never be known or felt again, I am, the ocean who is cleansing the good. And sending the bad to the depths unknown, And tides moving in directions, to restore, And cleanse the good of self worth again, For the last time, I am the ocean, I am strong, YOUR INFLUENCE HAS GONE AND NO LONGER BELONGS.

Additional Notes:
This poem was written after I went through a negative time in my life. Every thing that I had done that should have had a positive outcome didn't. I thought of positive things and ideas only to have drowned them drowned by a negative thought. So the critic within is something that every one has inside of them. Well almost every one . That is why this poem was written. Because the critic within myself doubted every thing I did and made me feel that I was not worth much in my life. In the end I concquered part if not most of the critic that has been living inside of me all my life. A counsellor once told me that to conquer your fears and negative side is to face the critic within. My job was to write down how the critic made me feel, but I cant write things as others do, because my letters always end up rhyming in ways that some would not believe. So as you read this poem, you will be reading the exact thing that my counsellor read the day that I handed it to her.
