Level Ground at the Cross

There is level ground at the feet of Him who was sent To redeem man's lowly state by His death upon the cross. All we must do is believe, and our sins we should repent To gain new life through Him, the old life is tossed. All we must do is believe, and our sins we should repent To gain new life through Him; the old life is tossed. We receive His love on level ground as we bow and pray. Our lives begin to grow as we turn away from the past. Surrendering ourselves to Him making our vow to never stray  To gain kinship with Him and eternal life that will last. How do we grow to attain higher ground in His Name? Committing our lives by following the Word to set us free Leaving our old life behind so we will never be the same Like the corn of wheat which falls, dies, and never more to be. The message of the cross is not taken lightly or in jest. God knows our hearts and who desires to walk the righteous way. If we fall and repent, He will pick us up; our lives will be refreshed. For through His Son, our sins, in love, He did gladly pay. So, my friend, be faithful, without fear, and strong. Read your Word, love your fellowman, and commune with God above Don't forget to praise Him with your voice in word and song. Some day you will be called home to live forever in His love.
