Heartache Dreams Heartache Dreams Dreams are rising into the night, Taking our cares that come by day, Closing eyes, hiding from the light, As low shallow sleep arrives our way. Weaving, searching for a dream band, Then drifting to another land. A heartache land of dreams we see, Finding space and strolling on through, The arcade only seems to be, Slowing down time with nothing new, Moving to another time zone, Our tender thoughts are left alone. Memories call from days gone by, Despairing views bring out the sane, Light filters out the ones that lie, Casting them to another lane, With whispers left from whence they came, Some with fortune, others with fame. I stand in front of your closed gate, Cold winds swinging them open wide, The clock inside said I was late, My welcome frightened ghosts inside. Cancelling the numbers, you dialed, So quickly packing your suitcase, I knew it would be your last face, When I saw your first face, it smiled…. |
