The Silver Lining

The day is dark And the night, even darker A man awaits his inevitable fate He has everything to live for But gains much more in his death He sits and waits Longing for his fate to take place A man arrives He has come to take the other man home Take him home forever With him comes light A light so splendid, so noteworthy That it lights up even the darkest day And even the darker night The first man sees his fate And welcomes it He is glad to be going home Home into the light, for The day is dark And the night, even darker
