This for a Friend

What stirring in the heavenly realm That day there must have been. When honored chosen envoy Left heaven to decend. To gather from this field of strife That spark of dust stained kind. Cleansed by primal brilliance Now in reflection only find. Our hearts, without his presence, weighted Many to remorse fall prey. We who are left grieving heal When truth's power finds the day. Lord, mighty must have been the need To override our care. And yet we know by mercy's choice Its better with you there. When last seen his life at ebb And yet upon his brow The will, the hope and courage bent To struggle on somehow. Then when life's breath it's fetters to this life did cease. He found new atmosphere was given And pure beyond belief. As with that ancient Henry He hears his host to plead That glorious invitation "Breathe Spirit Breathe"
